A short guide to our most common questions, designed to help you feel prepared, informed, and comfortable before your appointment.
Where is Refinery4 located?
Refinery4 is located inside WSA at 161 Water Street in the Seaport District. The entrance can be easy to miss — look for the main WSA entry and take the escalator up to the second level. Once upstairs, follow the signs for Water Lounge/WSA Wellness and a team member will guide you to the studio.
Do clients have access to WSA amenities?
Yes. Refinery4 guests may enjoy select WSA wellness amenities — including the steam room, sauna, and relaxation areas — before or after their treatment. Please arrive early if you’d like time to enjoy them.
How do I book an appointment?
All treatments are booked online. A credit card is required to reserve your appointment. After booking, you’ll receive an email with your intake form, which must be completed prior to arrival.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to the full service fee.
What happens if I arrive late?
To respect all clients, late arrivals may result in a shortened session. The full service fee still applies.
Do you accept walk-ins?
No. All appointments must be scheduled in advance. Lead times are typically 10–20 days for preferred time slots, with occasional same-week availability.
Is there anything I should avoid before my treatment?
Certain treatments have specific contraindications. For example:
- Green Peel Classic requires avoiding water contact for five full days post-treatment and includes a mandatory day-5 follow-up.
- Dermal remodeling and Green Peel treatments have restrictions related to recent injectables, retinoids, sunburn, open wounds, active cold sores, inflammation, or isotretinoin use.
If any contraindications apply, Samantha will advise alternative options during consultation.
Which treatment should I book if I’m unsure?
Book the 90 Minute Custom. It allows Samantha to assess your skin during the appointment and create a tailored treatment using the modalities most appropriate for you that day.
Are treatments suitable during pregnancy?
Some treatments, including the Green Peel Collection and Dermal MicroRemodeling Therapy, are not suitable during pregnancy. If you’re expecting, please mention this when booking so we can recommend safe alternatives.
Do you offer treatments for teens?
Yes. Clients 14–17 may receive gentle maintenance treatments with a parent or guardian’s consent. Advanced modalities are reserved for ages 18+.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit cards are accepted. Gratuity is appreciated but never required.
Where can I learn more about the products you use?
Refinery4 treatments incorporate a curated edit of advanced skincare: Auteur, Ourself, Anfisa, and Royal Fern. Your esthetician will guide you through recommended products during your session. A retail/online shop experience is coming soon.
